Oregon's snowmobiling future depends on the next generation of riders, volunteers, leaders, and advocates. OSSA Youth Programs are designed to recognize young snowmobilers, support their education, and give them opportunities to become more involved in the snowmobiling community.

Ken Haevernick Scholarship
Supporting the next generation of Oregon snowmobilers.
The Oregon State Snowmobile Association is proud to offer the Ken Haevernick Scholarship to eligible graduating high school seniors and students currently enrolled full-time in a college, university, technical school, or trade school.

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- The applicant or an immediate family member must be a current, paid OSSA member.
- The applicant must be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled full-time in a college, university, technical school, or trade school.
- A complete application, cover letter, résumé, and essay must be submitted by the application deadline.

OSSA Youth Snowmobiling Campaign
Recognizing Oregon's Future—One Young Rider at a Time.
The OSSA Youth Snowmobiling Campaign celebrates young snowmobilers who are making a positive impact in Oregon's snowmobiling community. From November through April, one outstanding young snowmobiler will be recognized each month.
Each monthly honoree will receive a minimum award valued at $300, along with recognition through OSSA communications and events.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Youth nominees must:
- Be up to 18 years of age
- Have completed a snowmobile safety course
- Be involved with an OSSA member club or local snowmobiling community
- Participate in club activities, volunteer projects, trail work, community events, youth programs, or family snowmobiling
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, leadership, sportsmanship, volunteerism, and a positive attitude
- Be a positive role model for other young snowmobilers
Nomination forms are due by the 15th of each month for consideration in the following month's selection.

One outstanding young snowmobiler is selected each month from November through April.

Each monthly honoree receives a minimum award valued at $300 and is celebrated throughout the OSSA community.

Youth Snowmobiler of the Year
Celebrating Oregon’s outstanding young snowmobilers and their commitment to the sport.
The OSSA Youth Snowmobiler of the Year Award recognizes a young snowmobiler who demonstrates enthusiasm for the sport, involvement in their snowmobiling community, and the qualities that represent the next generation of Oregon snowmobilers.
Nominees are recognized for their involvement in organized snowmobiling, participation in club and state association activities, and efforts to encourage other youth to become involved in the sport.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Youth nominees must:
- Be 12–18 years of age
- Be deeply committed to organized snowmobiling
- Be actively involved in organized snowmobiling
- Participate in club and/or state association activities and events
- Demonstrate an interest in helping make snowmobiling even more enjoyable in the future
- Encourage other youth to become involved in organized snowmobiling
Nominations may be submitted by an individual, a snowmobile organization, or the nominee.
Nomination forms must be received by December 1 of the year of nomination.
