Trail Report 04-15-2008

Yup... I know... still snowin' and still lots of snow out there..but.. THAT'S IT! We're done groomin' for this season. I was back/forth over the pass last night. Very, very slick and white-out conditions. Guess we're not the only ones outta fuel...so must be DOT 'cause no sand on the ice...

Usually we would have opened/closed various gates by now as we finish groomin' by April 15th. Not gonna be the case yet because still snow to the top of some gates. Don't know if roads will ever open up high. Rode this past Thursday. Still great Spring ridin' and trails have been holdin' pretty good.

I would ask that we exercise patience about getting on the roads with our 4x4's..... When possible we need to complete our inventory for trails maintenance project work but we certainly do not want to "rut-up" the roads in the process and no doubt, they're gonna be wet,wet for some time with quite a bit of snow on 'em.

I certainly want to thank Operators Barry Haight, Mark Bolton, Cal Casebier, and Scott Weaver for their help this year. Especially Barry who put in many, many hours. We also had some Riders this year that helped a lot and several of you put in a lot of work with trails surveys, maintenance and fire wood projects. Little question...what all of you accomplished did make for a successful season even though we had some extreme conditions at times.

Thank you..... Until next season.... have a good Summer....
