To: Bruce Joseph Magnan Klamath falls, OR United States The remodel of the shelter was a co-op project between the cross-country ski group and the Rogue Snowmobilers and the USFS. Gene Bowling headed up the project. The shelter was in desperate need of repair, the design and engineering was done by the USFS and Gene. Gene donated the stove and many hours of his time. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me. John Vogel (johnvhope@aol.com)

Poor workmanship on the S brn mtn shelter. Should left things alone. Some people dont understand why it was built that way. Stove is great. I think some of the snowmobiers were to lazy to dig out the old entrance. Its not a warm as has been in the past. Who's idea was that any way to remodel. Snowshoer and a snowmobiler. Leave things they were intended for.

I just recently moved to Klamath Falls from Portland and bought my first snowmobile this last weekend ... {lots to learn now}. I am joining the "Chiloquin Ridge Riders" and looking forward to this coming snow season. I am currently involved in preparing a grant applications [along with Marvin Schenck {Pres. of the Ridge Riders}] to the JELD-WEN FOUNDATION, the grant appl. is for a WARMING HUT @ Annie Creek Sno-Park. Would very much like to hear from people living in or around Klamath Falls if you are supportive of a WARMING HUT, and would like to know your reasons why. Just need a simple explanation of how you & your family/friends use the Annie Creek Sno-Park and why you think a Warming Hut would be beneficial. Thanks much - Cyn

I would like to know where in Oregon, where it's mostly wide open meadows and low foot hills. My wife and kids would like to start snowmobiling, but would like to start in open areas. How about rating areas like ski resorts? Something like, 25% Black Diamond, 40% Intermediate, etc. Or, 25% Hill Climbing, 40% Open Meadows or a combination of both. This way I could tell if the family will enjoy it.

Inquiring on possibilities of having snowmobile trails along forest service road 46, south end of highway 224 just north of Detroit Lake. Also, when the 46 road from Timothy Lake turnoff (at the State's owned Oregon 224 end) to Breitenbush pullout is buried in snow, what about opening some of that up to snowmobiling? Detroit is looking to expand their economic base into the winter as with Estacada. Drawing more people into both areas for winter activities.

I would like information on how to address road closures on established snowmobile roads that have been maintained and groomed for at least 20 years in the Mt. Hood National Forest administered by the Barlow Ranger District. The road in question is 4420 between the Flag Point Lookout Road and High Prarie between the watershed area and Badger Wilderness area. I personally hve been using this road we call The Storm Damaged Road for the last 20 years to hike, hunt, motorcycle, 4X4, snowshoe and for the last five years snowmobile. I pay all of the forest use fees +++ and this makes me very upset for them (USFS)to close this key road with no notice at all for the users except for boulders and a road closed sign this spring as soon as the snow ran off. PLEASE HELP US FIGHT THIS! I belong to the Gorge Goodtimers Club in Hood River. Thanks!!

My name is Edmund Marco and it's a pleasure to sign your guest book. I work for an advertising agency in London. Our agency represents direct marketing companies that are involved in the marketing of products as seen on TV in England. Most of the infomercial products come from the U.S. but then again we export our talents as well. My brother has appeared in infomercials in the U.S. advertising various products. I think it's hilarious that English people respond so well to American products while Americans tend to respond well to sales people who have an English accent!
